What a wonderful show! – I never knew of Johnnie Ray however I just love the songs and your singing, thank you for introducing me to them – I brought my father to the show and am so glad I came, the show was terrific – WE were married to your song ‘I found a new love’ in 1961 and this is the first time we have seen your show. It was unbelievable for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was my 2nd ever Lonnie Lee Concert. \ud83c\udf1f\u2728\ud83d\udc96\ud83c\udfb5\ud83c\udfb6\ud83c\udf99\ufe0f\ud83c\udfb8\ud83c\udfa4\ud83d\ude0d\ud83e\udd29\ud83d\udc4c And Lonnie Lee and The Leemen didn’t disappoint. What a full, enjoyable, entertaining, action packed Show full of energy, & countess songs that kept the audience singing along & tapping our feet. Lonnie’s energy in the room, his fantastic beautiful voice, & Elvis moves, with an equally awesome Band to match. All thoroughly enjoying themselves as they sang & entertained us with a large collection of so many old favourites & beautiful songs. Lonnie is a genuine, sincere lovely person & we were thrilled to meet him & share in conversation with Lonnie & his lovely wife after the show at beautiful Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul. \ufffd\ufffd\ud83d\udc96\ud83c\udfb8\ud83c\udfa4\ud83c\udf1f\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42\u263a\ufe0f\ufffd\ufffd\ud83c\udfbc\ud83c\udfb5\ud83d\udc96\u2728\ud83d\udc97 Lonnie Lee, thankyou sooo much! We enjoyed the stories you shared with each song. And your enthusiastic approach, energy, & unique beautiful one of a kind voice touched every person in that room. Loved every Song, but especially : I found new love, \ufffd\ufffd\ud83d\udc9d\ud83d\udc96 which holds special meaning for me of a time before I was born. Where love began in a little Coffee Lounge in Port Kembla NSW, in the early 60’s when your Song was played on the Juke Box. The passing years only add to your popularity. Yes Lonnie Lee had a cast iron right to be there as he took his place in front of the “The Leemen” and I felt absolved – Lonnie had come to rock and the Lord was kind. The 2nd half began as Lonnie Lee & The Leemen performed the story of Australian Rock ‘n’ Roll, taking us on a musical journey through the Golden Years. All the hits were performed and fresh, from Six O’ Clock Rock to Lonnie’s smash original composition’s “It Takes Me Back” & “My Rockabilly Band” – At the conclusion the audience rose to their feet and applauded to a man. A standing ovation worthy of a warrior legend who will carry the shield of original Rock ‘n’ Roll Celebrity into eternity”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was a great concert Lonnie thank you. I believe the auditorium seats 1,050 patrons so well done! Twin Towns must also be thanked for their continuing support of live Australian musicians. Nothing better than Australian “old rockers” keeping us “old rockers” entertained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw Lonnie Lee at Festival Hall when I was a young teenager. (just 15). He was absolutely awesome ! I’ve since seen him at Caboolture RSL with my ‘Lil Sis’ and also twice at Tamworth, during the last coupla years. He is still as handsome and awesome as ever. I never realised just how good this country boy really was, he could have been in my opinion a legend just like Roy Orbison, and Elvis Presley, such beautiful quality in his voice so many underrated talented Australian singers who should have been superstars. just so good<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a small world. I knew Lonnie Lee under his real name & his sister Liz when they lived @ East Bankstown in the 50’s. He used to catch the bus with his guitar from Waterloo Rd to Bankstown. We were about 16 yrs old then. It was all public transport in those days. He has done well & still doing it. “Star light star bright is still one of my favourite songs. Very uplifting.do,da,wop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
